Right V. Real

You V. The World

I Want Something More… Do You?

You do! You really do! And now you can have it, because “Something More,” our first single, is now available for your purchasing pleasure. You can get your digital copy from any number of retailers, including iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, IMVU, Zune, Napster, Lala, Shockhound, Nokia, eMusic, and the Limewire Store. But why would you buy it?

Answer the following questions:
1. Do you like music? If so, purchase. It’s music. We promise.
2. Do you want to support us? If so, purchase. We make a lot more off these purchases then you have been lead to believe, so don’t think that getting a copy from your friend isn’t robbing us – it is!
3. Do you like cheap things? If so, purchase. You can get the song from Amazon MP3 for just $0.89, and other stores at prices like $0.99 or better. We kept it cheap for you guys. I had Chic Fil-A dinner that cost five times as much as this song and you can’t enjoy the same Chic-Fil-A for the rest of your life.
4. Do you want to increase your credit card bill for tax reasons? If so, purchase, and hope there isn’t an audit in your future.
5. Do you like cake? If so, get some, then purchase as you eat.
6. Do you want something more out of your pathetic life? If so, purchase. This song is about you.
7. Do you have problems in your relationship? If so, purchase. (P.S: If condition persists for more than four hours, please see your doctor.)
8. Did you just find four quarters in the pillows on your sofa? If so, purchase. It’s not like you’re losing money anyway – you had already lost it.
9. Was your New Year’s resolution to be a nicer person? If so, purchase. Supporting a cool band is considered nice in polite society.
10. Do you not care? If so, purchase. Why not?

But that hasn’t convinced you? Well, if you really want to try before you buy, you can stream the entire track for free from our MySpace or Facebook pages. (http://www.myspace.com/rightvreal, or search for Right V. Real on Facebook)

Are you finally convinced? Since you’ve decided to purchase it, here’s where you go:

Thanks so much for supporting us, and look for more exclusive content and more music coming soon!

What more could we ask for?

Hey Guys,

Where to begin. Oh yeah: You guys rock. Thanks for a second great show at the Laurel Hills Community Center – it was really fun getting to play our crazy songs for you guys and have you like them. We can’t thank you enough, and we’ll keep you posted on what’s coming next.

In other big news, our first single, “Something More,” is getting closer and closer to being released. So close, in fact, that we today released a clip to stream from our website. Go to http://www.rightvreal.com to hear a clip from “Something More.” We’ll send out another update when we’ve got buy links for you guys on stores like iTunes, Amazon MP3, Napster, Shock Hound, and more.

We had a great time at the show, and thank you guys for being there for us. Looking forward to being able to send you more news about where to get the single, and we hope you enjoy the clip. We love you all.

Thank You, New Show, and a New Single

Hey Guys,

We’ve got some great news, but first:

For all who attended our show a week and a half ago at the Laurel Hills Community Center, we’d like to say thanks. You guys were the best crowd we’ve ever had, and you made the One Year Birthday of Right V. Real something that won’t be forgotten. We’re currently working on getting you guys something special, so stay tuned for that.

Now we have good news! Because of how great that show went, we’ve been invited back to do another one. March 20, 7:00 PM, same place. Laurel Hills Community Center (3808 Edwards Mill Road), Raleigh, Nc. Tickets are still $7 at the door, and you’re supporting great teen music. Will you be there? The answer should be “YES!”

And speaking of supporting music, we’d like to announce that our first single, Something More, is currently in the process of getting up on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and anywhere else you guys might like to buy it. We’ll have more information for that as we get closer to it hitting the stores.

Well, I think that’s all for now. We’ll be sending you guys a follow up message with information on how to claim your awesomeness if you were at our February 20 show, and we’re looking forward to seeing you March 20 as well!

Love,

One-Year-Anniversary Show for Right V. Real: This Weekend

Hey Guys,

In case you’ve forgotten, we have our One-Year-Anniversary show this Saturday. We hope you’re excited as we are to be at this show. I promise you: you will have a ton of fun, and there will be awesome things happening. (Maybe even some special goodies for those who attend)

For those of you who aren’t confirmed yet, it’s not too late! Tickets are only $7 and can be purchased at the door. The show starts at 7:00 PM, and the entire lineup are teenage bands. So come out and support teen music.

Venue address: Laurel Hills Community Center, 3808 Edwards Mill Rd, 27612, right near Crabtree Valley Mall. The entrance is a little hidden. If you’re coming down Glenwood by the mall, turn and go up the hill on Edwards Mill Rd. (the sign says Creedmoor Rd. which turns into Edwards Mill). Once you pass Glen Eden Dr., the entrance to Laurel Hills is the next left.

Any questions? Just e-mail band@rightvreal.com. Hoping to see you this Saturday, the 20th!

Sincerely,
Shane, Adam, Daniel, and Derek

P.S: If you have burning questions for the band, you can now send them to us online. Just visit http://formspring.me/rightvreal and ask your question. We’ll answer any of the non-spam, non-stupid ones.

News for the New Year

Hey Everyone,

Wow. It’s been a while. I haven’t communicated with you guys since last year. Scary, right?

It’s a brand new year for Right V. Real, and we have big things in store. We will be releasing our debut record – a full length, on which more details will be released soon – this year. We will be playing bigger and better shows this year. We will be growing the fan base this year. Most importantly, though, we will be entering our second full year together as a band. It was today, 11 months ago in February, when we launched the MySpace account for Right V. Real. Derek took a moment to write something up about this experience – something I think you guys should read.

“It’s appropriate that we’re sending this announcement out today.

Eleven months ago, almost a year, we began Right V. Real as two sets of brothers, rocking out in an attic. We started with a dream – to make music for ourselves. The fans are amazing, the love and adoration we get for making the step into the world of rock is a perk, but in the end this is all about the music. When we started, we were two sets of brothers, just in the slightly awkward stages of not knowing the others well enough to crack wise jokes. But now we are one big set of brothers – the four of us. We’re willing to do most anything for each other, aside from eating live frogs.”

As you know, we took a few months off the stage to write material. We’ve got lots written and lots more in the pipeline, and we figured it’s high time we made a comeback. To that end, we’re announcing our One-Year-anniversary show on February 20, 2010. It’s a few more days than a year, but it’s plenty close enough. Here are the details:

Who: Right V. Real, plus other teen bands to be announced
What: Teen Band Night/Right V. Real One Year Show
When: 7:00-10:00 PM on February 20, 2010
Where: Laurel Hills Community Center
3808 Edwards Mill Road
Raleigh, NC 27612
(919)420-2383
Price: $7 at the door

We look forward to seeing tons of you at the show. Come out and support the bands playing. We know several of the guys, and these shows are always a blast. P.S: I happen to know there may be something special there for the people who attend.

So that being said, 2010 is going to be the year. We are thrilled that you will be a part of it.

Sincerely,
“Right V. Real”:
Adam Fitzmaurice
Daniel Fitzmaurice
Derek Dittmar
Shane Dittmar

You Pick the Cover

Hey Guys,

I know it’s been a while since we brought you news. Let me tell you what’s going on:

For the time being, we’re taking a small break from live performances. We’ll probably hit the circuit again in December or January. Apart from lots of stuff happenning in our personal lives (school, sports, and… whatever else I waste my life on), we are working on a debut full-length album. We want it to be good, so we’re devoting this time to writing songs, demoing, trying stuff, and picking tracks, as well as tracking and mixing. (Hopefully)

But, we realize that that means the record won’t happen for a couple months. So, we have decided to (soon) drop a covers EP to get you guys excited for the stuff, and to allow you guys to really hear us.

Here’s the clincher: We could be unoriginal and cover Fall Out Boy, or things of that nature. (Although we love Fall Out Boy. No disrespect) However, we have decided that we’ll make this interesting. So we’re going to do some covers of things you hear on the radio. The Lady Gaga’s, Britney Spears’s, Black Eyed Peas’, and people of that nature. We’ve picked most of what we want to feature, however, we need your help. We are interested in getting your oppinion on one song that needs to be there. Look at the charts, listen to the radio, and pick something that you think we could embarass ourselves on. Then, submit the artist and title in the comments on this blog. We’ll pick one of the submissions and do it. I promise. Please get your friends involved. There’s almost nothing we aren’t willing to try. I’ll rap… (If the guys let me. :) )

Anyway, please try to think of something funny for us to do, and we hope you’re looking forward to everything we have coming up!

Shows This Weekend!

Hey guys,

Just thought I’d post and remind you guys about the two shows we have coming up this weekend. They’re both on Sunday. We’ll be playing a Battle of the Bands show at the Pour House Music hall, and a benefit for MS at the Lincoln Theatre. They’re 30 minute sets each. We don’t have times yet, unfortunately, as last minute timing was the only way we could get them both in.

The Lincoln Theatre is a $5 show, and all procedes go to MS.

The Pour House is $8 preorder/$10 day of show. (NOTE: $5 cover charge if you’re under 21)

We’ll post the times to our mailing list, text message alerts, and here as soon as we know. Hope to see you at one of the shows.

Thanks.

Quick Question

Hey,

We’ve been asked to play a festival, and we’re wondering if anyone would show up. So:

New Demos and More

Hey Guys.

Great news: We’ve just dropped four new demos on our myspace! Check them out. A few notes about them:
*All but “Not For You” are just me (Shane) performing – which is why there are synthesized drums, which I played on a keyboard, so don’t hate too bad. Please.
*We put them up in an order for a reason.
*They’re called:
The Beginning (Everything You Know…)
Past Stay in the Past (Live at the Brewery)
Something More
Not for You
The End (Life Sucks, Get a Helmet)

IN OTHER NEWS: California

I (Shane) am going to California for a week and a half, and will be leaving the myspace/e-mail in complete control of Adam and Daniel. So, if they say something, it’s not my falt. :P

ALSO: Shows

Check out our myspace for a listing of upcoming shows. We’ve got several both scheduled and in the works.

Thanks a bunch for all your support. Tell all your friends about the new songs, and let’s make these dreams come true. (Was that too sappy? It’s late, who cares)

XOXO
-Shane

RVR Plays the Brewery this Weekend

UPDATE: Thank you soo much to everyone who came out. We met a ton of people, and we felt like you guys really loved the show. Even though we invaded on the metal scene. :P

If you were at the show, let us know! If you took video, let us know.

Okay, here’s the deal. There was a last-minute cancelation of a show at the Brewery, and we got a spot on the bill this saturday. I know it’s short notice, but we’d love it if you can all come out. We’ll be debuting a brand new song off our upcoming album called “Something More.” The doors for the show open at about 8:30.

Bands on the Bill:
Right V. Real
Three Cheers For Texas
Conformity
Battle of Antietam
Shotgun Molly
Sanibel Flats
